Dr. Shravan Kumar Paswan

Research Associate, Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University, UP-India

Dr. Shravan’s broad range of research is focused on understanding the mechanisms of wound healing, wound care, preclinical toxicological studies, reproductive toxicology, genotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, lung injury, cardiovascular and molecular pharmacology. Dr. Shravan has gained huge expertise in animal handling (rat, mice, rabbit, sheep), dissections, biological fluid collection, route of administration (i.m., i.v., s.c. p.o., transdermal) and processing of biological fluids. Currently his expertise is focused on cannulation of the carotid artery, tracheal intubation followed by the opening of the thoracic cavity, measurement of right ventricular pressure of heart. Dr. Shravan is interested in investigating the pharmacological effect of vitamin D in monocrotaline induced pulmonary hypertension in rats via regulation of endogenous heme oxygenase 1/Nitric oxide pathway. During his doctoral studies Dr. Shravan investigated the mechanisms of wound healing from traditional plants and recently he discovered the mechanism of wound healing of Selaginella bryopteris plant extract using in vitro and in vivo method. Soon after his Ph.D., he joined All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, as a Senior Research Fellow, where his main focus of research was development of solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNPs) for oral delivery and elucidation of nutritional value, micro-ingredients, molecular and genetic determinism and study of biomarkers in tear fluid among the user of Bauhinia variegate in Tribal people. Dr Shravan is dedicated with interest in evolution and application of sophisticated and modern technologies in early diagnosis and treatment of different cardiovascular, skin and pulmonary disease, from lung cancers to pulmonary hypertension, interstitial skin, cardiovascular, lung disease and pulmonary arterial hypertension.
