Dr. Mohamad-Reza Aghanoori

Postdoctoral Scientist, Department of Medical Genetics, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Dr. Reza is studying the role of RNA binding proteins (RBPs) and their translational effect in Autism and rare neurodevelopmental disorders. It is crucial because a lot of mutations in these genes have been frequently reported in neurodevelopmental disorders without any defined diagnostic and therapeutic approach. Dr. Reza received his MS in Human Genetics, and his Ph.D. in Neuropharmacology from University of Manitoba, Canada. Dr. Reza’s doctoral thesis was focused on studying Insulin/IGF-1 regulation of mitochondria for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy.
